Could there be a better place to live

November 2024

This is actually my second home since arriving in France in 2019. It is situated in the Corrèze department of Southwest France, by the side of the river Dordogne - Beaulieu sur Dordogne. The history of the town dates back to 855, and is centered around the 11th Century Abbey Saint-Pierre. I live within the medieval center of the town that is accessed through the Saint Catherine’s gate. The streets are cobbled, the buildings for the most part are half-timbered. Think of Game of Thrones.

The hero of my photograph today, is the Chapel of the Penitents with its bell gable wall and five bays. The walk adjacent to the river is on my regular schedule.
